In the first half of 2022, the volume of freight transported in the China-Europe-China direction along the Eurasian railway was 307,200 TEUs, a decrease of 8.7% from the same period in 2021. The main factor behind the decline in the volume of freight transported through the Eurasian railway line is the international political situation: the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and the subsequent wave of sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia and Belarus.
